Audition Details

1:30pm - 4:30pm

Sunday 4th October

Bushmead Community Hub Luton

Don’t worry if you’re feeling a little nervous — our auditions are relaxed, friendly and designed to give everyone the opportunity to show us what they can do. We’re looking for enthusiasm, personality and a willingness to have fun!

Here’s what you can expect:

  • 👋 Introductions - We’ll start by introducing you to the production team, followed by a short introduction to the show from your Director, Marc.

  • 💃 Dancing - Our Choreographer, Lynette, will teach you a short dance routine of around one minute. Don’t worry if dancing isn’t your strongest skill — we’re not looking for professional dancers! We simply want to see your enthusiasm, energy and willingness to get involved.

  • 🎤 Singing - Please prepare a song of your choice of up to 2 minutes that showcases your abilities and is appropriate for the role(s) you are auditioning for. If you have sheet music, please send it in advance to thegriffinplayers@outlook.com so our Musical Director, Simon, can familiarise himself with it beforehand. If you are using a backing track, please either: Bring it with you on a USB stick, or Have a YouTube link ready to provide on the day.

  • 🎭 Acting - Everyone will have the opportunity to read for up to two named roles, as indicated on their audition form. The production team may, at their discretion, invite you to read for additional roles on the day. Don’t be surprised if we ask you to try something a little different — sometimes you can surprise yourself!

Whether this is your very first pantomime or you’re a seasoned performer, we’d absolutely love to see you at auditions!

You don’t need to be perfect — we want to see you.

Come along, have fun, give it your best shot and enjoy the experience.

Before audition day, please take some time to read through the character profiles for the principal roles below and think about which characters you feel you could bring to life.
