Auditions - Dick Whittington and his Wonderful Cat

Sunday 7th September 2025 @ 2pm

Come down and try out for our wonderful Family Pantomime.

Audition Information

Our Auditions will begin at 2pm on Sunday 7th September at Bushmead Community Hub. We are aiming to start with our Children's auditions for everyone up to and including 17 year olds (our inbetweenies), which will consist of a Dance audition, which will be taught by Kyra, followed by a small singing audition, which will be taught on the day by Paul. After this, the children will be able to leave (So parents or guardians you will need to stay for the audition). If you are over the age of 10 and would like to audition for either Tommy the Cat or Remy and Rizzo, you will be required to stay a little bit longer to read the audition script which can be found below. (Audition piece 2 for Remy and Rizzo)

For the Adult Ensemble and Character auditions please arrive to start by 3pm. You will also be taught a dance by Kyra, and will be required to sing, again which will be taught on the day by Paul. If you are not interested in a speaking role, you will be able to leave at this point, after your dance and singing audition.

The audition pieces for all characters can be found below. You will see there are 4 audition pieces. We are going to have a small work shop for our acting audition. You will be broken into groups, and asked to work together to set the scene how you want to deliver it as a group. Everyone will have the opportunity to do each of the four audition pieces, however, you may not necessarily be reading for one of the parts that you are interested in. We want to see what you are capable of with different people, how well you work together as a team, and any differences in characterisation that you can bring to each different character. You will be considered for all the parts that you are interested in, regardless of if you read for that part.

The song that Paul will be teaching for the audition will be 'Sail on Boys' from Operation Mincemeat.

Please complete an audition form by clicking on the link below.

All people will be informed by Tuesday 9th September if they have been successful by either phone call or via email.

Our first rehearsal will be on Thursday 11th September at 8pm at Bushmead Community Hub. This will be a first read-through for the named characters.
